🍅 Pomodoro Timer
Stay focused with 25-minute work sessions and 5-minute breaks. Start, pause, and reset — an audio alert plays when each phase ends.
After every 4 work sessions a 15-minute long break is suggested.
About the Pomodoro Timer
This Pomodoro timer runs entirely in your browser. It implements the classic Pomodoro Technique: a focused work session followed by a short break, with a longer break after several cycles. You can adjust the work and break lengths, start and pause the timer, and reset it at any time. When a phase ends, a short beep plays and a toast notification appears, so you know to switch contexts.
What is the Pomodoro Technique?
The Pomodoro Technique is a time-management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It uses a timer to break work into intervals — traditionally 25 minutes in length — separated by short breaks. Each interval is called a "pomodoro", named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer Cirillo used as a student. The idea is that the ticking countdown creates a sense of urgency and helps you stay focused on a single task, while the regular breaks prevent mental fatigue.
How to use this timer
- Set the work and break lengths (defaults are 25 and 5 minutes).
- Pick one task you want to focus on.
- Press Start and work until the alarm sounds.
- Take a short break. When the break ends, start the next work session.
- After 4 work sessions, take a longer 15-minute break.

Why don't I hear any sound? Check that your browser tab is not muted and your device volume is up. Some browsers block audio until you interact with the page.
